Last Saturday, our Soaring Eagle Marching Band participated in the 2025 Region UIL Marching Contest and swept the judges off their feet with all 1’s. Now, what does this exactly mean?
Well, at these contests, you can get a 1-5 rated division: 5 being the worst and 1 being the best. These decisions are made based on judges who are experienced in the world of music. These judges are divided into 2 different categories: a music judge and a visual judge.
The music judge is simple to understand, as they grade the band based on their musicality and ability. However, the visual judges are a little more advanced. They judge the bands overall marching and “dances” you see on the field.
Fortunately for the Soaring Eagle Marching band, they received all 1 rated divisions by all 3 judges. For them, this means that they are given the opportunity to advance to Area. We will be going up against a bigger group of bands, such as A&M Consolidated and Friendswood ISD. At this upcoming contest, the band has the chance to make it to the 2025 State UIL Marching Contest.
On November 1st, they will compete at the Area competition. Come by and support “Mad Love” performed by our one and only Soaring Eagle Marching band!
