“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” This quote originated from Plato, an ancient Greek philosopher, who preached genuine human connection, which is inevitable through music.
Music serves as an insightful inspiration for people across the globe, and to think that such luxury is right here at Barbers Hill! Last Wednesday on October 1st, band students from Middle School North and South joined together to showcase their devotion for music at the MSS theater.
They truly brought in the Halloween spirit, filling up the stage with their spooky melodies. There were 68 students from both schools, with well over 140 total. Thankfully, everyone was willing to work together to create a captivating concert. Mr. Wolfe, the Middle School North Band Director, shares the process of preparing them for their upcoming performance.
“The music came together really easily this year, which says a lot about how well the songs fit our students and the great work that was done at each campus before the rehearsal and performance,” he states. “Our students are grinding every day to get better, both on their own and as a group.”
Overall, the growth this experience provided for each performer is remarkable. To think that future musicians are sitting in that room, serenading the audience with their talents is extraordinary. With this amount of dedication and skill, who knows what greater things are to come? If you’d like to see their flairs make sure you come by and check out their next performances!
